Some facts about  India's Independence

1906 was the year when India first hoisted Indian Flag.

In the year 1950 Indian National Anthem was adopted.

Lord Mountbatten was the person who choosen August 15 as Independence Day.

He decided to transfer control on August 15, which is also known as the second anniversary of Japan’s World War II surrender.

National song 'Vande Mataram' is taken from a Bengali novel.

The “Declaration of the Independence of India,” was promulgated during the 1929 meeting of the Indian National Congress, and 26 January was designated as Independence Day in 1930.

Between 1930 and 1946, the Congress celebrated January 26 as Independence Day.

Clement Attlee, the British government’s prime minister, declared on February 20 that British India will have full autonomy by June 1948 at the latest.
